What Clients Have to Say about our Work

Letter from Adrienne Rich to Stephanie Gilmore, dated 25 October 2003.

Adrienne Rich, 2003

"Here, as promised, is my response to the essays in your issue [of the Journal of Women's History] on "Comp. Het." {Compulsory Heterosexuality}. It was very interesting and moving to read them and to think and write about my own vexed history with it. In a way it feels like a closure to me, and I am grateful to you for making this possible. The issues and struggles go on, but I believe and hope that these dialogues in JWH will be clarifying and useful for future feminist historians and activists.

Could you send me a couple of copies of the issue in which the essays appeared, for my personal archive?

Anastasia Curwood, Biographer of Shirley Chisholm and Professor of History, University of Kentucky

I am grateful to Stephanie for being my book doula! She read every word twice and made practical, effective interventions. When I was exhausted from the project, she boosted me up with her energy and enthusiasm. And then she even sent me a dope playlist that I can imagine Shirley Chisholm herself dancing to!

Melissa Estes Blair, Professor of History, Auburn University

It was a delight to work with Formore Editorial Services. Stephanie’s combination of careful, thoughtful editing and enthusiasm for my project made my book many times better, and also boosted my confidence when I worried if the book was ready to send into the world. I look forward to working together again on my next project!

Linda Chavers, Managing Associate, Education Practice at Storbeck Search

I struggle with my fiction and Stephanie is an amazing editor with such a great eye for what drives my writing! I feel so seen by reading her assessments, and her enthusiasm is infectious. She makes me look forward to the work, which is HUGE!

Khirsten L. Scott, Writer and Community Educator

As a writer and community educator, I am in awe at the work Stephanie and I have done together in just three months. From mapping out large writing visions and discussing potential presses, to revising articles and contacting agents, Stephanie has been a strong advocate for my research and writing agenda. Her flexibility and willingness to figure out processes to help me are matched only by her knowledge and care about writing serious nonfiction to reach a mass audience.

Steph Liberatore, Memoirist and Professor, George Mason University

Working with Stephanie was terrific from start to finish! She is encouraging, personable, and gave me the feedback I needed to take my work to the next level! Highly recommend!

Formore Editorial Services is the single greatest editorial service a writer  could ask for. Never in all my years as a writer have I found a more enthusiastic, knowledgeable, patient editor like I found in Stephanie Gilmore. Her diligent work, intelligent compromises, and passionate  adoration of the written word have made a difficult process painless. If your work is personal, if it matters to you that your writing receives personal attention from someone who wants only to enhance your talent,  there's no better person to link with than the helpful, diligent crew at  Formore. If I could give them 100 stars, I'd wrest them from the heavens.
